    This is an early original 1820s Keene or Sandwich glass blown hat whimsey open salt or toothpick holder....hand blown in 3 pc mold....rough open pontil scar on bottom....folded over rolled lip.....sunburst & geometric hobnail pattern with fluted base.....2 3/8"tall x 2 1/8"across base....clear flint glass....Sparkling attic mint condition with no chips or damage. A shiny clean salt or toothpick with no haze. This comes from my own personal collection, and originally from the Bill Sheriff collection of Silver Spring, Maryland. These early original hat whimseys are getting harder to find. Here's your chance to get a super nice example for your collection before the prices go up
