VINTAGE DELCO LIGHT EXIDE IRONCLAD GLASS BATTERY JAR, Advertising CONTAINER

Description

DELCO-LIGHT Exide Glass Battery Jar, type KXG 13.  Jar is embossed with manufacturers markings: "Delco-Light Exide Ironclad" on all four sides. "Water Line" is embossed around each side, along the top of the jar. The jar is also marked "Made in U.S.A." on two sides, near the bottom. The bottom is marked "KXG 13", and has 3 rounded "feet." The jar is made of heavy glass and, empty, weighs about 6 lbs. Approximate overall dimensions are 10-3/4" x 7-5/8" x "6.5"  Glass jar batteries of this type were used to store electricity for lighting systems on rural farms in the 1920's.  The jar is clear but does have a light blue hue to it.  there are chips around the outer rim.  One of the chips is bigger (pic 7 ), the corners are pictured for you review.  There is also a mold mark that looks like a crack but is not, I ran my finger and finger nail, it's nice and smooth ( pic 12).  Please note there is not a lid/ top for this unfortunately.
